Description
The University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore (UET Lahore) is a premier public university in Lahore, Pakistan, specializing in STEM subjects. Established in 1921 as Mughalpura Technical College, it underwent several name changes before becoming UET Lahore in 1972. It is renowned for being one of Pakistan's oldest and most selective engineering institutions.
UET Lahore offers a wide range of undergraduate, master's, and Ph.D. programs. It has a strong faculty, with significant research collaborations and projects funded by major global companies. The university is highly ranked both domestically and internationally, with particularly strong programs in petroleum, electrical, mechanical, chemical engineering, and computer science. In 2021, the government commemorated its centennial with a commemorative coin and postage stamp.
