Description

The Ajman Museum, located inside Ajman Fort in the city of Ajman, United Arab Emirates, offers a compelling glimpse into the region's past through various sections including archaeology, manuscripts, folk costumes, and souvenirs. The museum, housed in an 18th-century fortress that once served as a stronghold for Emirate leadership and the ruler's palace, was later converted into a police station. During its renovation, two wind towers and two watchtowers were preserved, and the fort's front features a massive gate and two cannons. Annotated in both Arabic and English, the museum highlights local history and heritage, showcasing traditional lifestyles, professions, archaeological artifacts, manuscripts, old weapons, and displays related to medical and religious practices.

Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan (1948–2022), the UAE's second president and ruler of Abu Dhabi from November 2004 to May 2022, was the eldest son of the UAE's first president, Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. He took on a significant role in the late 1990s due to his father's health issues and officially became Abu Dhabi's leader in 2004. His tenure saw cultural and academic growth, including the Louvre Abu Dhabi and Etihad Airways. Under his leadership, the UAE became a major economic power. Known for his pro-Western stance, he strengthened ties with the US and Israel.

Depicts a portrait of Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi facing, wearing a traditional cloak and headpiece, with inscriptions in Arabic "His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi" above and "Member of The UAE Supreme Council Ruler of Ajman" below.

Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi III (born 1931) is an Emirati royal and politician, currently serving as the ruler of the Emirate of Ajman and a member of the Federal Supreme Council. He became the 10th ruler of Ajman on 6 September 1981, succeeding his late father, Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi III. Prior to his rule, he served as deputy ruler from 1960.

The traditional men's headwear in some Middle Eastern areas consists of three components: a knitted skull-cap known as the "keffiyeh," (also referred to as a ghutrah, shemagh, or ḥaṭṭah) a large cotton headscarf, typically plain white or with a red-and-white checkered pattern, called the "ghutra," and a black cord named the "agal," which secures the ghutra in place.
